There is no GM manual transmissions that will decent performers with AWD, 3500 is weak has a mile long shift throw and the ratios are nowhere near anything fun. The 4500 is the same just a lot heavier duty and a bull low 1st (see starting in 2nd unless pulling the earth inside out)

thats what i thalt. the t56 out the f bodys splins line up perfect with the astro van t case but no one makes a tail housing for it cuz the tail housing holds some of 5th and 6th gear if i could make a tail housing that will bolt up that would be grate but i may have to stick with the nv3500 and just keep replacing them

i think hurst makes or maid a short thro for the nv3500
-
i would just go 4l60 or 80 but i wona lanch at like 3500 or 4000 and the 80e trans brake is way to slow for that and manuals are just more fun

The nv3500 and nv4500's are truck transmission with granny low 1st gear.
I have a nv4500 in my 99 Dodge diesel that makes over 1000ft lbs to the rear wheels and it hold up great...They make short throw shifters and many aftermarket upgrades.Clutch selection is HUGE.
With that said,I would not be putting either one behind a gas engine unless you are towing heavy with it all the time.

i only plan on makin about 500 fpt or so the 3500 dosin have a granny low i really wona go awd tho so i no someone can come up with something right

Can anyone else think of anything

there was a guy that used a t56 trans the tcase and front drive axles and such and put it in a foxbody mustang he made a adapter for the trans to t-case, crazy car for sure but it worked
