4.10 Question

im gonna be upgrading to 4.10:1 gears for my next mod. I kno theres ppl on here using summit brand gears, but i cant seem to locate em on summit. if someone could reply wit the summit link, or a link to any site that sell em would be kewl 2. i gots an '02 5.3. thanks!!!

if those gears will fit my truck, then yes it is what im lookin for. will these fit??

Sure will man. Those are for 8.5/8.626 10 bolt rear ends. That's what our 1500 truck come with(I assume you haven't swapped rear ends).

Just remember that you have an 8.625 rear end. They use the same gear set, but if my memory serves me correctly(which sometimes it doesn't:LOL:) the install kits are different.

install kit? i have to get an install kit as well? does summit sell it?

Yep gear sets are the same, just install kits are different. Yes you need a install kit, unless you have extra crush sleeve and bearings/races laying around, oh and shims
IMO I would also spend the few bucks more and atleast get Motive gears...

I suppose you don't HAVE to use the install kit, but don't expect your gears to be set up properly.

sorry if these questions sound stoopid, idk jack sqaut bout all this gear mumbo jumbo. so, if I got that minor install kit on ebay, would that be all that i would need to install 4.10s???

sorry if these questions im askin are stoopid, idk anything bout this gear stuff. so if i bout that minor install kit on ebay, would that be all that i would need to install the 4.10s???

yes if you have someone that can remove the pinion bearing without damaging it....its usually pressed on pretty good...I always replace it because I'm not that lucky....
