I have an '02 Avalanche 1500 Z-71 4X4. Bought brand new, still have it, just over 40K.
Found a link to here from the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club, and it looked interesting. I haven't done much at all to my truck in the almost 8 years I've owned it, soon it'll be time to start doing something about that.
All I've done so far.....
750W Alpine stereo system W/ JL Audio midgate Stealthbox
K&N FIPK
Superchips tuner
BFG LT265/70/17 All-Terrains Load Range C
Brakes just went. Gone. Putting on eBay drilled/slotted rotors, ceramic pads, A1 Cardone calipers, and StopTech SS lines. Doing this next week. The rotor/pad set was cheap as hell so I had to give it a shot. $280 shipped for all 4 corners. If they don't last, no biggie.....I can redo it.
Any mods I choose to do will be geared mostly towards light offroad and towing, thus focusing on low end torque. The truck sees mostly Interstate driving to and from work every day. Definitely not a race truck, but won't be jacked up to the sky either.
I also have a 400HP '88 Mustang GT, T-56 6-speed, 3.73, 150HP NOS, road-race setup. '89 K5 Blazer 4X4, 350TBI/700R4, 31/10.5/15 Pro-Comp Muds, front/rear limited-slip diffs, headers, dual exhaust, Smittybilt tube steps and push bar, body-color grille and mirrors. '95 Polaris 600XCR snowmobile, pipes, heads, bored carbs, clutch work, plastic skis.
My Blazer has a blown motor and tranny, and some decade when I have the cash I'll resurrect it. Glancing through this site quickly, it looks like a trove of info so I can swap in an LS1/4L60e when the time comes. The Avalanche will remain my daily driver, the Blazer will (eventually) be a medium-duty trail truck, so it will probably receive a 6.0 L. I'll keep the 5.3 in the AV.
*edit* Whoops, forgot to add.....I'm in the Omaha area.
