Have not had time to do my motor swap. From 4.8 to 5.3 need to get my car to Columbus OH. The truck has 15000 on it think I will be OK if I take my time. Just about a 6hr pull.

MMMM. How big is trailer? Enclosed trailer? V hull or flat? How heavy is total load? Now the important question. Do you have a trans cooler and trans temp gauge. If no trans cooler and no temp gauge Do not do it. Weight and all the other questions are still a factor.
The 4.8 is still a semi decent motor. Long as you have a 3.73/4.10 gear and a tranny cooler, I wouldn't worry about it. Not sure if you have tow/haul, but if not, don't use overdrive, and keep it at 55.
Enclosed trailer is 20'. Truck is a stock SWB 4.8 with the 4L60e Trans. 3.43 gears. It has tow/haul on it. I have a big trans cooler on it. The tuck has a trans temp gauge on it to. The car is 3600 lbs.
i've pulled a 1 ton ford dually around with 3.42 and no guage, just remember to take it slow.
Yeah engine will do it. Keep an eye on that temp gauge.
you have 3.42 gears. And with a cooler and gauge id say youd be ok. 4.10s would help alot though.
Thanks guys. I will be in no rush going up. Going to Good Guys putting the car on display there for the weekend.
Why take it so slow? We pull our 22' flat car trailer with our 2005 Colorado crew cab with the I-5 all the time. 3300-3700lbs cars have been pulled all over the state going 65-75 the whole time in overdrive. Never had any issues, since we have been pulling cars since the truck was new and now has 65k on it.
Now, we do have trailer brakes, a tranny cooler and we tuned the Colorado ourselves with HPTuners Pro, but nonetheless.
