If it goes awway after driving it the 1st time each day it's the pad composition or improper break in.

What alternative do I have to verify that its the compound or improper break in? Stupid question here. What is proper break in for new pads?
Thank you!

i always ride the brake.dont push down hard on the brake, roll on 10-15 mph for alittle bit.always worked for me.

Did you just do a pad swap, or did you replace/have the rotors turned?
-
Always good to put caliper grease on the back of the pads. Did you get the good pads or the economy. Usually a lose shim will do that on the economy pads.

no got good pads..and the front rotors are new....rears are old but still good..
thanks

Although there is probably a scientific explanation, sometimes I think disc brakes just squeak. I replaced my wifes volvo pads with real good ones, used the anti-squeal spray on the back of the pads, broke them in, etc. and they still squeak. I had a Volvo S60R with 10k miles and the brakes squeaked plenty. The brakes squeak on my 05 Z-71. It's annoying but sometimes you can put a lot of energy and thought into fixing it and still have squeaky brakes.

New rotors aren't bedded in. You need to follow the instructions provided with the pads...especially with new rotors. There is more than one way to do it. I usually jam the brakes from 50-60 2-3 times in a row then drive a few miles at highway speeds without using the brakes to allow them to cool.
