Belltech spring trouble

Just lowered my truck and...

The pass side front coil is rubbing on the frame part that holds the top of the spring when I go over a bump. Makes a real ugly noise.. I might try rotating that rubber thingy on the bottom of the coil in case it's pushing the spring over a bit.

Just got it back from the alignment guy and he said the rear axle was out of alignment but he just did the front.. How can he do the front if the rear is crooked? I loosened it up and adjusted it a hair but it only helped a little and I don't think I can get it to move any further. He said the driver's front was way out (after lowering) so he moved it quite a bit and now it pulls to the right. I think he's been sniffing paint. Anybody got some alignment tricks? Or coil spring ideas? Thanks

Post up the alignment specs, including front and rear.

Yeah just reset that rubber and it wont rub. It usually takes me 2-3 times to make sure that rubber is seated correctly and evenly so I wont get a rub on the front

Are you using spacers on the rear springs? If so get a measuring tape out and measure from a common point of reference on the frame to the axel and make sure it the same on both sides, i had the same problem...

You can get the front right with the non-adjustable (in theory) rear out of spec but the thrust angle will be goofed up (it will dog walk).

+1 on the numbers where he set it.

I'll try that out. I was afraid I'd have to heat up and bend the end of the coils so they didn't push to one side so much.

All I have are the 3* shims they sent with the package. I should've bought your springs and saved myself alot of trouble. Turns out I can't adjust these like I thought anyways and the Edelbrocks probably have a little better spring rate. :mad: you should've just put a gun to my head or something.

I noticed the driver's side is 1/2" lower than the other. I loosened everything and re-tightened it.
I think I'll get new shocks before I do anything else. I can't think of what else it could be. Unless having the fuel tank, battery, and driver all on the same side (DUH) makes it lean like that.

Turning the rubber thing on the front coil seems to have done the trick, although I think I'll heat them up soon and get them to bend like the stock ones on the bottom. I think it sucks that Belltech couldn't have done that already.
