ok so we are in the final stages in my swap im doing a 5.3 with a 4l60e is my 89 gmc 1500 sierra
i was wondering if anyone out there knows if i can use my stock gauges?? i would really like to use the stock gauges so i dont have to spend more money
if anyone out there can help please let me know how i can use the stock gauges wiring etc... any help appreciated

yeah, gage manufacturers make adapters for them. Contact Welcome to Street & Peformance , they have all of the ones you'll need if I remember correctly. I used an old Gen3 oil pressure gage and broke the top half off and drilled/tapped for my OBS pressure unit. Water temp adapter from hotrodlane. The last truck I did I tapped the water pump for the water temp sending unit, behind the tensioner in the flat area.

The water temp on the other hand, Does the Water Temp Sensor on the head have to stay there and another has to be drilled and tapped in order to have the truck (92 k1500) water temp gauge working?

You must have the Gen3 water temp sensor on the engine and wired into the PCM to properly run the engine, this is why I chose to tap the waterpump to install the OBS water temp sensor within it.

You can use the 98 sensor but the temp will be wrong on the gauge.
Well, looks like i got no choice. Shouldnt be a big deal since the water pumps off the motor anyways
There's a port on the passenger side head for a cts. Why drill and tap when u could just use that? It's workn good for me. Just use your old sensor with an $18 adapter from s&p
