I wouldn't.
The NVG 3500 and NVG 4500 suck for performance bu I think the Colorado comes with an updated trans not related to the old ones.
In fact, I just took the hands on manual trans class that included the RWD 5-speed in the S/T and Hummer H3 as well as Sky and Solstice (some differences by platform). I remember it being a fairly compact and simple, not weak but not beefy unit. Not sure what the gear ratios are off hand but hopefully they don't blow like the New Venture Gear transmissions I mentions before.
Wouldn't a base RCSB Colorado be a good platform for a T-56? They can't weigh that much
thats what i was thinking but if the 5 speed will handle the 5.3 then my buddy wants to go that route. Arent the new manuals in the colorado built by aisin?
There you go. That's it. Couldn't remember but that's it. Not sure if the bell will bolt to an LS engine but google might know. All I can say is I've taken one apart and put it back together probably the only time ever. Very simple build, maybe one special tool.
just googled it. its an aisin AR-5. but its only rated for 260 ftlb, so i guess T56 it is
so what else is involved with the 5.3 swap?
