How about a stock 6.0? If you're doing a motor swap you might be better off just doing a 6.0 than a 5.3.
You can get a good bit out of the 4.8 without doing a motor swap... Depending on how far you wanted to go... A head, cam set up with a good tune would be a MAJOR stepup...
can you elaberate on the on what kind of heads work and cam (lift) to do?
Start with your basic bolt ons CAI, gears, LSD, tune etc.
Move up to a beefed up transmission, heads/cam combo
Then your power adders FI or N2O.
It's a never ending story though, you can never get enough.
what is a LSD, What about underdrive pulleys?
Limited Slip Differential
Pulleys are included in the ETC part of the basic bolt ons.
talk to FF Jeff, he had a 4.8 in an ext cab that ran pretty strong.
How do i figure out what gears she got under her now? and what woudl be a good size to swap with this is a street truck only
Look in your glove box
GU6 = 3.42
GT4 = 3.73
GT5 = 4.10
For street/strip I would say 3.73s if you don't already have them. If you go often to the track and don't mind frequenting the Gas Station more often then 4.10s will fix you up quite nicely.
