GM kills lines
GM shrinks performance model line-up
As part of its downsizing, General Motors has announced a list of high-performance models to be discontinued, by the end of the year:- Chevrolet Cobalt SS sedan
- Chevrolet Impala SS
- Cadillac STS-V
- Pontiac G6 GXP
Announced yesterday...
The Cobalt seemed the best value to me, but I am not a bean counter.
-
ill always have gm in my blood no matta what!!lol
-
Dang that's gonna shut down some jobs.
-
I have yet to see a G6 GXP and the STS-V is a $100K car. I've had one Cobalt SS (supercharged) in for service and we didn't sell it. We have sold a couple V8 Impalas and Grand Pix cars but they're not big movers either.
-
the 2 door cobalt SS are huge in houston (supercharged and the newer turboed ones) didnt even know they still made the 4 door, at least they arnt getting rid of any big performance vehicles, stinks about the job loss

None of those cars are really big sellers up here either. We've sold one STS-V which is an absolutely AWESOME car, but like Nate said, the price tag on that one was $104K CDN. Now that they have the CTS-V with the LS9 in them that'll replace the STS-V quite nicely. We've had a total of 3 Cobalt SS's on the lot since '06, one was bought by a former employee and the other two sat on the lot for months and eventually got dealer traded. We've sold a few Impala SS's, a few G6 GTPs, but we're definitely not going to lose a lot of business from those either.
-
All pointless cars. Impala SS is slow, g6 supercharged is horribly slow, caddi has a big price tag, and the cobalt ss is only being cut in sedan not coupe. Sedan just makes it slower anyway. I agree with Gas guzzler and short box.

I Could care less, I like my truck, I don't plan on buying a new car or truck for a long time.

Just a little tidbit of information, the Yukon has a 36 day turn around. Meaning the approximate time a yukon spends on the lot before it is sold is 36 days. The best of any full size SUV. Probably why GM wont cut GMC. :twocents:

When I saw this, my heart almost dropped when I saw the Cadillac name mentioned. I was hoping they wouldn't axe the CTS-V....
