Vette servo problem
Alright i pulled the old servo out of my 60E tranny tonight and attempted to install the new vette servo. Put it all back together and now slips horribly going 1-2 and 2nd gear does not grab under any sort of load. Anyone have a picture of how it should look? or what I could have possibly done wrong? Ill build a motor but I hate working on transmissions.... what should i do about this whole situation here? FYI 2004 silv. 4.8 60E 2wd

You either put it together wrong, which is easy to do, or you cut or misguided the seals when pushing it in.
At least you know it's the servo, lol, just remove it and start over.
I don't know all the names exactly to the servo, I just know how it goes in, but I do know that one part that looks like a crown, the crown points outward and the part immediately under the cover, the center part that is higher, points outward too.
hope this helps,
allen

got any pictures of how it should go together?
-
check out the front page, that helped me out

do it over and check that the little shaft that goes through the servo isnt scraped or bent.

I bet you busted a seal... Also make sure the ridges on the intermediate point outward... it goes like this.
Bell shaped servo, servo with ridges or notches facing out, then little servo, then cover.
Any tranny shop can sell you a seal kit for like $15 or less. Remember every time you remove the cover, you have to replace the cover o ring. Unless some how you can remove the cover and o ring without damaging the o ring, yet it still retains its function.
