tb stall questions
Just kinda curious as to how high you guys think a tb converter would stall in my 5.3 4x4 xl? I know ive read that on avg is like 2400-2600. Didnt know if the exta weight ive got would cause it to stall higher? When i had my 98 3.8 auto camaro it was bone stock and had the rear disc setup and if i held brakes pretty hard i could get 3000-3200 in it . I know completely diff animals but wondered if the disc brakes help any either. Well thanks.

Contact Circle D converters on here. The do a custom TB converter that stalls better than stock. He may be able to tailor it to your needs. :thumb:

I had the same stall in my cc. Good bang for the buck mod. I have Circle-D working on my truck now and they reworked the tb stall to 3000.I will let you know how it feels.

yeah whatever i go for i want to be able to pull my car still.

Circle-d restalled my TC to 3000 and rebuilt my tranny. The stall feels much better not to mention the 2nd gear shifts. The guys at their shop are excellent at what they do. They told me to keep my after market cooler on and I should have no problems towing.

Yeah thats good to hear. I dont plan to tow often hell ive never pulled anything yet im still looking for a good trailer and i need to pickup a hitch since my yukon never had one :(. Since i plan to start going to other tracks i dont want to risk breaking something on the car a couple hundred miles from home and have to pay for a tow. I just dont like the fact that ill be hauling my "street car" in on a trailer haha

We offer our TB 278MM built to Circle D specs. It will typically footbrake to 3000+. We use a HD clutch, bearings and TIG weld the blades for a very strong converter. Give me a shout if you are interested in one.
