Swap my AWD for your 4WD?

I'm not sure on exactly everything involved but I really want to be able to put my truck in 2WD mode so I was wondering if anyone that has a 4WD would want to swap me for my AWD stuff.


Im sure there are a few here that can chime in on whats all involved.



2002 Sierra Denali LQ4 AWD, it has the NVG 149 T Case

You would need 4wd transfer case control module and harness that goes under dash. Not sure if harness is already there or not. Also The transfer case, front differential and actuator. Maybe the harness for the actuator. Controls for the 4wd. transfer case. I am doing the oposite swap and still need some parts. I might be willing to trade you my transfer case for your front diff. also look at this thread. It explains a good bit. DenaliTrucks • Login

It will be much more involved on your end. I would not do it personally but if your like me you dont wanna hear that. I am going awd cause I need the traction at 1/3 throttle my truck will break traction.

uhh i got a 2000 z71, i wonder if this would work, if it would id trade ya.

we can both do some research and see what it will take and maybe we can work something out, mine has 4.10's in it so if I can use my same gears out of my diff in yours then I bet we will be good to go:thumb:

It would be good to have both trucks side by side to do the swap. I bet his Z gears are 3.73 like mine. I am curious to see what all you guys figure out. Also you both need to have lots of pictures and write it all up so that the world can have a complete write up on a very daring and desirable swap. :tacos:

I have a couple of friends that own a tire shop. We can put them side by side on lifts to do it:burnrubb:

I doubt the AWD truck has the TCCM stuff wiring wise. Both trucks will end up with lots of warning lights.
