just plug it in, all the vehicles are already wired for the trans temp, they were just cheap and didnt give you the gauge

hd clusters have trans temp too and they are usually cheaper...just FYI...
thats what i run and it works perfect....but it says my truck has 140,000 miles tho...and i really only has 63,000 :(
