Theres a scratching type noise coming from the driver side front wheel. My truck has new rotors and pads. What do you guys think it might be? The hub bearing?
put a jack under the a arm and lift that tire and spin it. listen for the sound. if it is the bearing it will turn rough.
Ive done that, even lifted the truck on the car lift at work and ran it on 4wd. It didnt make any noise, seems like its only when theres weight on it.
sonds like the backing plate rubbing on the rotor, may have gotten bent in the changeover. check for clearance, as it may only rub due to deflection in the bearing when the weight of the vehicle is on it.
Sometimes a rock will get between the rotor and the backing plate but many hub bearings don't make noise unloaded. You can however feel the slack in one most times by relieving the weight and putting pressure on the tire with a hand on each side and then a hand on top and bottom each.
sounds like a backing plate slightly bent to me
