servo?
I just ordered a vette servo for my truck. Is there enough room to take the old one out without taking it apart? I've been reading on different website that there is no enough room to slide it out. I'm pretty handy with the tools but not sure if I want to try this or have a Trans shop do it. Does anybody know how much a trans shop would charge for a install anyway?:ugh2:

A lot of times its way easier to remove the transmission mounts, and pry the tranny over about 2-3 inches from the rear of the tranny. You can get them out without doing that, but its a PITA, and the assembly has to be positioned just right.
On OBS 4l60e's there is a heat shield covering the servo area. Make sure you don't put the cover gasket in until you test fit the assembly. And it compresses about 2 inches or so. Other wise you will have to trash the gasket every time you take the cover off. If the assembly doesn't squish twards the tranny when installed, then its not in right. Redheartbeat can help more if you need it.
