4L60E leaking intermitently from the front
Im taking it to the trans shop later this week but I thought I would put this up for review.The trans is leaking from the front around the inspection hole and it looks like the fluid is coming out at high pressure because of the way it sprays in certain directions.Not everything has fluid on it as it would if it just came out of the front and the wind blew it backwards.The oil pan is covered from front to back,the trans pan is wet but only halfway to the rear and there is fluid above the headers and on the floor pan on the passenger side but not on the exhaust pipes.This is crazy!!!!!I cleaned it up yesterday and stayed clean for awhile...meantime i pulled the trailer for about 20 miles....no leak!drove the piss out of it for about 15 miles trying to get it to leak....nothing! Started it to move around the parking lot to hook up to the trailer.....about 10 feet and the SOB pukes fluid!WTF!!!!trans temps are normal,shifts great,no noise,fluid looks and smells good,and hasnt lost enough to show up on the dipstick.My trans guy says its probly the front pump bushing has spun and is bumping the seal and making it leak every now and then.....so...R and R,replace the bushings and seals, replace the pump and just for ****s and giggles install a billet input 9 inch 3200 art carr stall for 650.00.Sounds good to me if that fixes it and my stall is for sale if anybody is interested.Its an ArtCarr 9inch 2800 stall.Its got about 15k on it and has been great.I will take 275.00 for it and Ill post it up when its out.
