Need Help!!!!
Can you bore a 4.8L block to a 4.030", (slightly bigger than the 6.0L bore)????
I have heard yes.... and i have heard no... I dont see why not because of some things i have looked up, a 4.8 and 5.3 sare the same bore, different stroke... the 5.3 and the 6.0 share the same stroke, but the 6.0 has a 4" bore... all the components (A/C, alternator, water pump, etc...) match up for all the engines. so why couldnt i bore my 4.8 from a 3.78" to a 4". i need to know if i need to buy a 6.0 block before i order all my internals. and setup a date at the machine shop. any and all help is appreciated!
thanks

No, but to a point. If you pay to have it Darton sleeved, yes. Cheaper to buy a 6L block.

boring it out that much would cause the cylinder walls to be to thin and thats no good

even though the out side block dimensions are the same, all the important internal block bits arnt. now you can boar/stroke a 4.8/5.3 out to a 5.7 but no bigger
