Question about retainers

Do the retainers need to be replaced when you change the valve springs? i've heard they dont and i've heard they do. :confused:

i didnt change mine....i just re-used the stock ones

It also depends on what spring you get. Some use after-market retainers and other you can use the stock ones.

Locks or retainers. I'd say go for new retainers.....preferably titanium....the locks can be reused if they're compatible with the retainers.

i think you can use the stock retainers one those spring, but dont hold me to that.

I just finished my spring swap a while ago,have fun buddy!!what tool are you going to use,i recommend the crane cam valve tool.it worked great for me.o yea i used the stock retainers as well.

I thought most of these spring packages came with retainers???? (but not locks)
