just curious can you stroke out a 4.8 to a 408 or do you have 2 start with 6.0
4.8 is maxed out at 383 ci.
you have to bore it to ls1 piston size (max bore) and use a stroker crank and rods.
6.0 bored .030 is a 370. get a 4'' crank and you got a 408
There is a 4.1 or 4.125'' stroker crank available from Eagle if you want more displacement. GM has a 4.125" crank out now too for the LSX engine to go 4.125 stroke x 4.185 bore. GM now sells a crate LSX 454. GM Performance Parts | LSX Engines
corrected dimensions.
Now a lsx454.. thats just bad**s! I gotta get one.. just have to see if the bank will let me borrow 10k :ugh2:
Heres is a short block from Texas Speed. http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=709 Not too bad.
Price wise stroking the 6.0 to 408, saying you don't have the ability to do it yourself, of course a machine shop to machine the block. How much would it compare to just building up lsx454 short block?
