I was wondering if anyone over here would happen to know how much lift you can do on an LQ4 untill you need to put valve reliefs on the pistons? Cam Im looking to go with is .635 lift and the previous owner had reliefs on his pistons just incase. Motor is an LQ4 with stock crank and 241 heads. Thanks guys, everyone on PTnet said measure it but I was hoping someone would know
its not just lift you need to worry about you need to worry about lift along with duration. with that being said i know a MS4 clears a lq4 with 243 heads

It will be close. Funny no one asked if the heads or block was milled. Way too little info to guess.
o btw you best get some compression with a cam like that. something around 11.1 anything less youll be losing power

Yes, since your heads are bone stock, you're asking about a huge cam, you know more than you're letting on, and the avatar has been seen before (LOL), you might wanna think about a P&P.

yeah thats what I've been hearing. Definitely need porting but it'll have to wait till the big cam is ready to go in.
