Rear End tear down
Got down to where we are taking out the Axels. The C clips holding them on SOMEHOW (dont ask me) got bevels by all the beating from when it came apart. With as much slack put between the end of the axel and the axel gear it will NOT come off the axel. I have started trying to grind down the end of the axel as too get the C clip room to slide out. Pretty much the metal bit I have is being just ate up, Anyone run into this before and how did you get it out? The GM mechanic that came over to help said in all his time he has never seen anything this bad. Hammers, punches, screwdrivers, magnets. Everything that USUALLY gets them out has failed.

Beat the %^#%^#%^ out of the flange end where the wheel goes to force the axle in enough to get the slips off. Trust me, it would be worse if they came out going down the road.

Tried that. This guy I am working with is a GM mechanic. He has been doin it since I was born. He in all his years never seen one do this.

you can try and use a ratchet strap or comealong and put pressure on the end of the axle (where the wheel would go) and then pound on it while tightening it up. If that doesn't work, then get out the cutting torch and start heating up the c-clamp and see if you can melt it out without damaging the axle shaft, as you have found those axle shafts are a really hard material.

SUCCESS! ending up taking a Grinder with a pointed bit for drilling metal and putting a angel on the end of the axel. Then with a punch made is smooth and one side one out. Broke the other half of the carrier took out that half that had the axel out. Took a grinder and cut half of the lip on the other side off and pulled that one out. Should have it back together by sunday.
