Quick question about offroad y-pipes. With a aftermarket y-pipe, should I just Tap new holes for the O2 sensors?? Just like they were for the factory spots. If so won't this cause the ecm to have a bad reading, because it will no longer be running with cats. I want a good sounding exhaust note, and I just figured the less restriction the better. Any info will help out. Thanks.
Without the cats, you don't need the rear O2 sensors. You will have to get them turned off by a tuner or the SES light will come on.
You still need to have the fronts ones in as well. You still may be able to still find O2 eliminators on e-bay or something for the rears. I got mine off of there for about $12.
Thanks for the help. So if I have my ecm sent to nelson I can just have them eliminate my rear 02's. Now all I need is the y-pipe, the exhaust, the cam, and the Tune.... I see long hours this winter.
Good long hours. I'm sure Nelson offers his mail order tunes with a core so you can buy and pay, then wait for the hot PCM to install, then send the dummy back to him to get your core credit. I foresee big smiles on your face.
