After christmas I'll be able to spend about $1000 on the truck. What should I do? I want to go FI, but obviously that can't happen for that little. Should I spend this money on smaller things or just save it up until I have enough for a turbo?

Sounds like you're ready for a cam kit, if you do the install yourself, you'll be under the 1K mark.
i was kinda thinkin a cam, its probably the best way to go for now. i should be able to find some guys to help me with the install, but what would it cost if i had to get a shop to do it for me?
my other thought was a new converter, but i havent been able to find one for the 6l80. can any of you guys help me out with this?
Who does the work on your car? Id imagine you (or whoever works on your car) would be more than capable of doing it, why would you pay a shop?
Also, It would be wise to cam for the future mods now, maybe a LPE GT-2 if your planning on going boosted...
x2, most cams that are good for turbo's will still be great additions in N/A trucks. you will be closer to having a sweet turbo build and have a faster truck in the meantime.Quote:

yes it will work, just use a different cam gear and get rid of the variable valve timing stuff under the timing cover, and a new timing cover and it will work.
comp cams has a direct replacement cam for your truck, but you loose the variable cam timing anyway, but don't have to buy all the other stuff.
i say you loose the vvt because i noticed the comp cams don't have the oil valley thing cut into the cams journal. this feeds the vvt unit oil pressure and advances the cam.
i just found mast motorsports has a cam for the l92 also, are they someone to look at. and do you have a p/n for the comp cam?
