I started working on my interior wiring today and found that its not going to be possible to mount my pedal directly to the firewall. Does anyone have pics of how one could be mounted? also the pedal I have seems to have very little range of motion. Is that normal? Thanks
I was going to go this route. I had the harness and the only thing I didnt have was the pedal and the box for the DBW.Quote:

Go with cable, its 10000000000000000x better.
I already have everything for DBW, I wanted to go cable but it didn't work out that way.
Trust me, go cable. DBW is a pain and you can't even manually rev the motor. you have to press the gas pedal. and the pedal looks like poop in our trucksQuote:

i built a bracket to mount the pedal to the firewall, and then cut the new pedal off of the assy and welded the stock pedal to it, worked great untill the truck was stolen.
Thats probably what I'll end up doing. Sorry to hear about your truck.
i'll try to get a pic of the pedal mount but here is what I did for the TAC module. Just replaced the cruise control and fit exactly.

I actually like my DBW.
My swap isn't in a 88-98 truck, but I still had to modify for the DBW. I was able to get the top bolt of the pedal assembly to line up with the top hole on my floor/firewall so that was good. But the pedal length was a little long so I ended up cutting it off, and fiddling around with a set of vice grips holding the two ends together until I got it where I wanted, then welded it up. Doesn't look there's much welding done in this pic, but the other side has more weld so it's all good. It was one of those, "It's 1:30am, I can get this done before 2." kind of things haha.

Oh, and with my pedal out of the car, I thought that it didn't have much travel at all either, but there is more than you think once it's mounted and you're using your foot haha.
