Need some info
I am going to be changing my transmission fluid in a day or so was wondering how many quarts it will take. Also the best fluid out there if there are any i use royal purple heard it was good..... Thanks. Also was thinking of replacing the pan with one that is deeper and has a drain plug any brands? Thanks

Tough question without knowing what vehicle you have....and what trans.
A 4L60E with a flat bottom pan takes about 4 quarts with a filer change. The stepped, deeper pan takes about 5.5 quarts with a filter change.

oooops sorry about that i have a 4.8, 4l60e with a shallow pan thanks for the info

If it's new enough to have a 4.8 then it most likely has the stepped deeper pan.

you can always add if needed lol!!!
brands well only know of one B&M very expensive!! but theres others cheap try google for 4l60E deep transmission pan

Just go with regular Dextron VI. Even the O'Reilly brand is good--no real reason to gy the special stuff.
Start out with 4 quarts--start it up, shift it through all the gears and let it get warm--then check the level--add if needed.
