Trash the convenience center?

91 silverado, 2001 5.3, 95 dash.(no airbag in it, has cupholders)

I took the underhood junction box from the 2001 and have it on my fenderwell.
The 91 "convenience center" is right behind the C100 connector under the dash.
(Driver's side dash fuse box from 98 to replace the 91 knee-high fuse box.)

Do these two things play the same role?

Seems like if i take out the "convenience center" and run the corresponding wires from the underhood junction box thru the C100 connector, then to the fuse box(or to where they need to go) i won't have a redundant distribution system....comments? I read somewhere that in 95 the convenience center is actually under the hood, approx. in the same location as the underhood junction box is in later years.

I want to have it as much like the 2001 wiring as possible, no matter the pain in wiring heh.:tacos:

You might wanna post some pics of that since there are so many different names for similar parts. The 1995 is odd because it was the first year of the new interior and wiring and the last year of the TBI.

From what I can tell, the "UJB" will replace the "CC" distribute power among the main circuits, and then the blue taped wires just on the engine side of the firewall will go thru C100 hole and just solder into the instrument panel, steering wheel/turn signal/ignition switch/etc. Then I will do away with the knee-high fusebox from 91 and use the drivers side of the dash fuse panel from the 95 dash. My intention is to keep ALL 2001 fuses/circuits intact from under the hood..PS which years did NOT have an airbag??

95+ have bags with expception of the 95-00 GMT400 3/4-ton and bigger trucks.

Interessant project, klinkt alsof je goed weet waar je mee bezig bent met al dat bedrading-werk. Toen ik zelf even afstand wilde nemen van zo’n ingewikkeld klusje, besloot ik iets totaal anders te doen en kwam terecht op ivy bet casino . In het begin ging het niet geweldig bij de gokkast Fire Joker, maar na een paar rondes draaide het geluk om en pakte ik een mooie winst. Dat gaf me echt even een kick na al dat gepriegel met draden en zekeringen. De bonussen voor spelers uit België maken het trouwens ook de moeite waard om af en toe een rondje te wagen.
