According to his website, he used a transfer case from a 2500HD.
Parish's driveline
Parish ran the stock 80e transfer case...the diff between my system and yours is im always in 4wd there is no taking it out and going to 2wd...the t-case on both trucks are the same basically and can take the same amount of strain
AWD...all the time. 4WD...part of the time--as in only when you need it.
I knew that much :P
I meant does the AWD have the ability to be biased towards the rear tires, etc.
no im not sure on the exact split but i know its around 70/30 or 65/35 and i think 4wd is the same...this is why i have only shattered the rear end i guess
I think its a VC NP205 with a 60/40 split.
4WD is locked 50/50.
AWD depends on the year and transfer case number. The 2003+ Denalis and Escalades have a 50/50 (operates like an open front to rear diff so it can be anything under power in low traction situations). The stability system (when armed) applies the individual wheel brakes to control front or rear (or left/right) wheel spin. The 2002 and back Denalis and Escalades (as well as Syclones, Typhoons, and AWD Astros/Safaris) have a torque biasing T/C that can apply, in any infinite percentage, power to the front wheels as needed. These operate at a 65R/35F bias under non-slip condition.
Not sure about the 2003+ SSS....but I thought they were the same as the Denalis and Escalades.
Whew!
No issues with the stock transfer case here. I remember reading somewhere that they were good up to something like 2000 or 2500 lb-ft. Remember they have the low range 4wd which multiplies the torque, and they are built to handle that. I can't imagine that you would stress it beyond it's limits while using 4hi.
I definitely never put it in that perspective. A buddy of mine was certain that Parish's stock transfer case couldn't handle the power it takes to run a low 10 sec truck
