milling stock 6.0 heads
Hey guys,
I was thinking about milling the stock heads on my 2000 6.0L. I'm not even sure what heads they are. All I know is they are not aluminum heads unfortunately. I have the Texas Speed 228r cam. I was wondering how much I could safely mill off from these heads and would it be worth it. I'm not sure what compression ratio I'm aiming for, just looking for more power. Also, should I get one of those cosmetic gaskets. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks. Tim.

Find some aluminum heads and have them milled to cleanup, -.020" max. You should be able to get a nice set of used 317s for $200. GM MLS gaskets are all you'll need. I run the GM MLS gaskets with studs and spray 300 without issue.
