Tailshaft seals keep going out?

i've just put my 3rd tailshaft seal into my transfer-case about 4 weeks ago and it's already leaking again. I noticed the leak when I first got my truck, and changed it...that seal alsted about 6 months and started leaking. I bought a second one and changed it, that one lasted about the same, not this one I put it and i haven't been driving the truck that much (20 miles a week tops) and i've noticed fluid on the garage floor again and what do you know...it's leaking. I had the fluid in the trans and transfer case changed when the servo got put in, and the fluid on the floor is blue? I've never seen blue before, but I'm not up on all the fluids that much....any advice please!

The blue fluid is the autotrak II fluid for your transfer case.
Can you see where it is leaking from the case? You may need to pull the transfer case and replace the input seal on it. The seal gets very hard over time and won't seal.

The next time you remove the driveshaft, polish the slip yoke where the rear seal rides with some steel wool. You may have a burr or residue on it.

The bushing in the tail of the T/C may be worn...if so, 6387131478 new seals won't seal the leak. Also make sure AutoTrakII is the proper fluid for the T/C...most times that stuff is for AWD T/C's like mine.
