Trans cooling.

I just bought a 08 Tahoe and it didnt come with a trans cooler. My brother bought a Hughes trans pan for his 04 Silverado and was wondering if it would fit my trans. Is installing a trans pan with extra quart cap. and cooling fins and a trans cooler a over kill or the cooler the better for the tranny. I do tow a boat around 5-6000 pounds.

Ummm....you might check your RPO codes in the glove box 'cause the 2008 very likely has a 6L80-E trans that has nothing in common with the 2004 transmission. Check with your dealer, there's probably a GM authorized external cooler kit that comes with mounting hardware and two of the lines (one of the three is reused).
