Cam options!
Hey guys, I talked to the texas-speed store, and I asked to have a custom grind 224/230 .581/.588 112LSA made for me, the guy told me that that cam had is pretty choppy... and he recommend me to have 216/220 on 114 LSA...
What do you all think about this cam? He also include in the package "comp 918 beehive valvesprings and a set of chromeoly hardened pushrods"... will those work?
Im about ready to order a cam package with my lts and ory and the stall...
just trying to make the best decision for my cam... I rather have a cam not too choppy..
Thanks!

sounds like a decent cam to me..... but what other things do you have to support it??
hell i have the 228/228 588/588 @ 112... mine aint too bad....
also i suggest going a step up from the 918's.... i know plenty of people on here use them, but myself and lots of others use the PRC dual gold springs and PR kit... but thats my 2 pennies

I dont know man, thats all he said.. those numbers that I posted..
918's cant handle those cams?
Thanks bud!

What motor is that for?
i have a TR 220/220 .551/.551 on 114LSA in my 5.3 and it has plenty of lope in it, and its great over 2.5k. The thing just screams.
The guys at texas speed and performance know what they are doing for sure.
Yes you will need new Springs and Pushrods. I went with the comp 7.4" hardended chrome moly ones, so yes they will work, but i believe you have to use the stock valvetrain, which is pretty typical, just change springs and pushrods, and re-use the stock rockers.

is for a 5.3L... does your cam is pretty choppy?
-
My cam is pretty close to what TS recommended and I love it! The idle is pretty near stock in terms of lope...just a slight chop underneath the exhaust note. It really gets going above 2.5K and doesn't stop!

did you need a stall bro??

Before the turbo I didn't...but it would have helped out. Not required though.
