Ok, let me give this a try. I've got a 97 GMC truck and was wanting to keep the stock fuel injection on it and install it on GM's newFastburn383. Since I've looked into extrude honing the intake and have found a set of modified injectors but still can't get the flow out of the intake that I'm gonna need for the Fastburn383 I've decided to swap an LS1 into it. By the time I buy the injection system for the vortec and the 383, I'll be way over what I can put the LS1 in for since the engine and tranny were given to me LOL. I've talked with Fuel Injection Specialties in San Antonio, Tx and they said they will interface the LS1 with the /Vortec harness for $650.00 and program the ECM for $300.00 I've also talked with Fastchips, Ed Wright and John and they said they could help me out with the programming also. When I bought my NOS system (LS1 kit) from MTI I never thought about putting an LS1 into my truck. A friend I work with has put an LS1 in his Porsche 911 and I was watching all the trial and error he went through so I know this will take 3 days to a week for the swap. I guess what I'm asking is has anyone here done a Vortec V8 swap to an LS1? I didn't see it in any of the threads but a 94 is close except for the wiring. Any suggestions would be well appreciated. I have access to a full machine shop so I can build brackets for the AC and whatever else I need.

custom mounts and a fuel pump that will support 55-60 psi continuously are things off the top of my head. allen had a bracket made for his a/c but mentioned it robbed a lot of power takin a ~115" belt i think. lemme know how that a/c bracket comes and i may buy one from you if allen cant get anymore.

Thanks for the info! I'll drop a walbro pump in the tank and will modify the mounts. I should be starting this project in the next month or 2. I'm getting all of the info necessary to make this swap as easy as possible. So far things are in my favor except time. 7/12's are kickin my butt!!! LOL If I get 450 HP out of the motor I'll be happy. I've got the NOS to pick it up if needed but I'll probably drop it back to a 75-100 shot. I"ve got a lot of options but I think the LS1 will be the way to go to save$$$$$$ on fuel consumption. My only holdback will be the 4:10 gears I installed but the 4L60E OD will help out. I'll let you know what happens with the AC mounts.
