Ok, from a dead stop, when I push the pedal to the floor, there is like a .5-1 second delay before anything happens. This makes for some real bad reaction times. Is this common on the DBW trucks and is there anything I can do to fix it?

My tune cured mine.
So I guess that is just the amount of time it takes the signal to travel from the pedal to the TB? I guess a tune can reduce that time is what your saying?
there is a built in delay time. Electical impulses travel at the speed of light.
I have a DBW truck and I cut .034 light last friday. I dont have any noticable delay when nail it.
just hit when the 3rd light comes on...you'll be fine
So you are saying you run your tank dry on 87 octane gas M-F, then fill up with 91 octane for the weekend...run it dry, and then fill it again with 87 for the work week? Sounds like a PITA to me. Seriously, it costs like $6 more to put 93 in your tank. Plus your truck will run better, get better gas mileage, motor will run smoother, etc. Switching back and forth is too much trouble. Get a 93 octane custom tune and be done with it! :thumb:
