Custom Cam Questions
I am looking for a cam for a bolt-on daily driver i want to keep the stall under 3000.
I've been looking at the TR220/220 556/556 114. what things to they take in consideration when building a custom cam or would a custom cam be a waste of money for a bolton truck.
thanks nate

Thats what i went with, its a great cam. I bought pushrods and Patriot Gold Springs, and got the retainers too. I also purchased the lifter tool, valve tool for the air compressor, and the spring compressor tool for my swap.
I like the cam, i need to get a new Torque converter though, stock one is ok, but seems to bog the motor down a little on the low end, top end is awesome. Truck pulls after 3k. Other than that make sure you have a case of beer, and a helping set of hands, and a decent weekend to do it in. Now that i have done it, i can have the valve covers off in about 8 min.
Only thing i have run into, was that on the way to work something went wrong, and started to make some crazy noise. I thought it was a rocker, but the more i think about it, it might have been a loose header having an exhaust leak. Not sure, so i replaced all of my rocker arms as well.
i have a vid posted up in the vids section of my idle and take off.
edit: looks like you already have the headers and such, a cam in my opinion was the perfect way to get some more ponies to the ground with out having to do a heck of a lot of work.
