Hey guys, I've searched and didn't find much.
I want to do the 6.0 swap, but i want to know how much this will hurt my mpg. I get about 13 city and 15 highway if i baby it. Idk if i can handle much worst, it is my DD. Don't get me wrong i'm not looking for 30mpg, i bought a truck to drive a truck.

from what I've read the 6.0 is going to give you a little less mpg than the rest. I went with a 5.3 because I am almost for certain I should get 20 mpg. I have a 96 ext. cab 2wd that had a 5.0/auto and it got 18 mpg. I'm currently putting the 03 5.3/auto in.
my 6.0 i get 17 to 18 in my 98 rcsb. and others get i think 20
with my lq9, 4:10s and a heavy right foot i get 16mpg city, and 20 highway.
my old v6 got me 15 city, 18 highway.
i think i need allen to do my tune to get more miles per gallon
I get 17.88 mpg on the hwy with a cam and 76mm turbo. That includes launching like a rocket onto the interstate.
Okay, sounds like it's not going to be as bad as i thought. I really want the extra power,but don't want to kill milage,

I swapped a 6.0L into my 86 4-door 1-ton dually...originally had a 7.4L.
I also used the 4l80E...the old trans was a SM465 4-speed.
I was really suprised...my old setup was good for about 8-11 mpg avg...towing or not.
The new 6.0 makes at least 14 to 15 mg...I'm very happy with it to say the least. (this is a big pickup!!!)
