I was thinking about changing my rear diff fluid out for royal purple. it has the original fluid. 04 silverado with 73,000 miles. I've heard from some it's a good idea, and some say it will just cause problems. Any opinions would be appreciated!

royal purple is all i run, its good to go. you can run ultra grey with no issues on the cover.
So does the Royal Purple really make a difference? I currently use Mobil 1 5-30 synthetic in my engine, but I heard that royal purple is the SH*T.
Not sure about diff fluid, but i know that 5w30 royal purple gets dirty allot faster than any other oil that I have ever used. I bounced around from redline( good oil just pricey), to mobil 1( burns up quicker). I am sticking with Castrol GTX synthetic.
I changed to Amsoil Severe Gear 75-90. Put it in both the front and rear and made it world of difference. Amsoil has an independent study of gear lubes at AMSOIL - A Study of Automotive Gear Lubes if you want to check it out.
