Ok, I have a friend with a 04 scsb 5.3, an he has been adding a few bolt-ons an this coming weekend we are going to install a few more. So if everything goes as plan, by this weekend my friend will have it finished. So I was just wondering what kind of 1/4 mile times will my friend be looking at after this weekend, when he will have all of the stuff listed below installed?
1. AEM intake
2. Edelbrock shorty headers followed by 1 flowmaster
3. ASP pullys
4. 160* thermostat
5. Electric fans
6. Posi- 3:73 gears
7. Nelson Tune(most important)
We both have been thinking around 14.80s or 70s. What do yall think? :burnout:

I'm not too sure what the 04's run, but it seems like you'd be in the 14's at a least.
That's of course if you get traction.
keep us updated,

He already ran his truck on a G-tech an got a 14.96, I think. But the only mods he had then were the pulleys, intake, exhaust, E-fans an Nelson tune

he should at least run a 14.7. btw, if he hasn't gotten good plugs and wires yet, he might as well throw some one there.

Can you tell me where you got a 160 thermostat for the new style 5.3? I have a 2003 Avalanche w/radix and Allen couldn't find on either. Evidently, sometime in 2003 the design changed and the ones available now are of a different design than previous years.
