wiring and driveshaft questions...

i finally got the ls1 dual fans on the truck, and due to the computer not turning the fans on, i have been plugging the fans into a "hot" post on the fan relay everytime i drive it, then unplugging it when i am done.

let me tell you first, i am pretty much an idiot on anything electrical. today, i decided to wire the fans to an old toggle switch i used for my old electric fan, and it blew the 30 amp fuse. for whatever reason, of the two open posts on my relay, one is hot, and one does not seem to work at all.

i have a 5 post bosch relay and the 3 post toggle switch. with what i have, can i wire these fans to this toggle switch? next time i see my buddy with hptuners, i am going to have him look to see why the computer is not turning the fans on, until then, i want to use the toggle switch.

and, due to the motor mounts i bought, i had to move the tranny up a bit, which has made my driveshaft too short. does anyone happen to know of a driveshaft that is about 1-2" longer than what comes with a 79 SWB? or do i just need to go scrounging at the junkyard with a tape measure. i dont have money for a custom driveshaft right now.

They make a longer slip yoke just for this problem. Search the net and they're easy to find. I paid $80 for one to fit my 80e which is the same as a turbo 400. A 350 yoke should be the same as a 60e. If it's too long you can trim some of it off the transmission end of the slip yoke.
