Installed Air Lift helper bags and Smart Air controller

Got some more work done on the truck this weekend. I figured with the new lower stance and removal of the helper springs I had in the rear that I will have sagging rear end issues when I tow. Installed some RideControl bags and a Smart Air auto leveling system this weekend....should take care of any problems that I may have had.

I've tested it with the truck on jackstands...seems to work well. Won't be able to really test it until I get the tranny back into the truck, but it should work well.

I was about to ask if you have driven it around at all and how it rode... but you dont have a tranny.. lol

Thinking about welding up a straight shaft between the flexplate and rear diff...that would be a wild ride!

VERY nice!! That's a great looking setup. I'm jealous. You'd get a better ride if you removed those rear bumpstop brackets. The bumpstops will bolt directly to the frame, and it'll only take you about 10 minutes. I'd also cut down the excess on those new u-bolts, so they never come close to your sensor mounted to the frame.

Good call on the bumpstop brackets...I never thought about that. I'll have to check it out and make sure that if I do that I won't bottom out the bags....maybe I should get new bumpstops and trim less of them off. Hmmm....


I still have some cutting I need to do also. The bracket for the magnet is too long and if I bottom out the suspension it will probably try to poke through the bed. I'm going to finish the trimming and such after I get the trans back in...ride height is a little lower with the tranny and transfer case installed.

Kinda like the torque arms that are on the F-body's?

i have helper bags on mine the ride is great and they work great. i use to put motors back there and it would bottom out now i run it up to about 40psi drop in the motor and it does not budge... :)

Did you get the transmission back yet?
