So I got my 6.0
If you look in the pic, circled in blue There is this fitting, but it is closed ended. Another board member told me I needed to get the fitting for non power assist brakes..
Can someone confirm this, and if so, anyone have one or a part number? I have checked alldata and does not list anything from this 06 express van where I got the motor from. Maybe another model or year? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
All that fitting goes to is the hose from the brake booster. but yeah just replace that with a fitting from a dealer. I dont think I have a part number it was like a 5 or 6 bucks. That fittings that you circled comes out from back there though. that red plastic thing is a clip and you can just pull that out. If you break it no big deal.Quote:

Get rid of that power booster. Put hydra boost brake system in. It runs off your power steering pump and works alot better especially for those with mild/big cams, no lose of vacuum at idle. For $200, better braking, and you can use all factory parts (hydraboost from a 1500hd and 2 hoses to change over). I had it in my 03' GMC and loved it.
push that red tab in towards the intake and pull the end off it will come off fairly easy then reuse ur old hose with same conector should fit right in hope this helps thx
