the tranny should be close, but im preety sure you will need different motor mounts. As for everything else... Driveshaft is different I think. Youll need a complete harness for the v6. Have no clue but im sure the exhaust should work with a little modification after the headers. you might need a different yolk for the drive shaft, or rear end. Im sure the engine will fit but to be honest with you my wifes 4.3 is a 97 with 95k miles and it only gets about 20-22mpg... If I baby my 4.8 in my extended cab I can get 20mpg ( If I dont spray or race) As for internally, The 350 and the 4.3 should be the same minus 2 pistons, rods , and plugs. I think they are even the same bore and stroke. just 6 slugs instead of 8... although the year difference might cause it to not fit... I would not be suprized if it bolted right up... sorry for the novel. but this is the first of this kind I have heard of man.

You would likely get the same milage or better from a 4.8 v8 or a 5.3 that is in the LS generation. I had a 90's efi v6 that thing drank more gas than my Trans-am GTA with a TPI 305. Not to mention how much mileage are you really gonna gain a couple hundred bucks a year?. . . . . .
