new ride
i just became the proud new owner of a midnite blue 1999 extended cab, 4wd, 5 speed manual (yup u read it right) silverado w/ only 48K miles. drove all the way to lititz, PA from Elizabethtown, KY to get it, but it was worth it. the only downside to the truck is the 4.8, but i'm seriously considering swapping a 5.3 into it. its straight piped and loud as hell. few mods in the work: Keystone Restyling IROC hood, hurst shifter w/ T handle, and trying to figure out how to add cruise control, since it came w/ no options at all (manual windows, locks, no cruise, work truck seats, etc.) if anyone can give me advice on adding cruise and whether or not it can be done, i'm all ears. oh and i'm currently at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, so anybody in the area feel free to give me a holler. later

Adding cruise isn't bad at all, you need the module/cable that goes under the hood, and the column switch for the inside. The module is a breeze as the wiring is already right there. The column switch is pretty simple too, just need to chase 3 or 4 plugs to where they need to be. I think the only funky tool you need is for an inverted torox on the bottom of the column.
Edit: and Welcome!

Welcome to the site man! Good buy on the truck... 5-speeds are fun to have...I wish I had one. A lot of the power accessories you want to add shouldn't be tough since the base wiring harness is already in place, you just got to get the interior door panels with the harness for the PW and PL...and the PL actuator, and power window motors... The CC was discussed above, so you shouldn't have a hard time getting it all in...
