My truck will get it off the line, but seems to not pull as hard after 3500 - 6k after the stall and Cam. What gives here? Any ideas on what the problem might be appreciated. No check engine light and no trans slip detected. Just does not seem to perform as expected.

hey what kind of stall did you get? what str? what diameter? a 3000 shouldnt kill that much top end unless you got a really high str...
Try a fuel pressure gauge on it at WOT and see if you're losing fuel pressure. If you can put a wideband on it, check your 02 readings at WOT. You shouldn't be running weak unless maybe your cam is off a full notch.
what year is your truck? motor? red, what do you mean off a notch?
it is a circle D 11 inch stall.. I know for sure the cam is not a notch off, I even have a pic on my camera to prove it, this step I took extra extra time on, besides getting that damn crank pulley off :speechless: . The fuel pressure idea makes sense, I have an old diablo programmer I can still use to read the o2 sensors, what should i be looking for?Quote:

Truck is an 06 4.8 to 5.3 swap with somewhere around 30k miles on it. I have had the truck since new and done all the work myself. I have done alot of things in the past, but have never been this dissapointed in the outcome of these two parts together with 4.10's
I am going to to check the o2's to see if it is going lean on the top end tomorrow morning. Then possibly take it for an 1/8 mile run tomorrow night to see if I am just smoking crack.
Last thought for the night, anyone think my stock exhaust manifolds and cats may be causing more tourqe down low and then not flowing at high r's?? just a thought I have been kicking around. Also I only have about 200 miles on the new tune and it seems like my last tune it took some time to "learn" how to haul ass, anyone else experiance this?
So I took it out this morning with the diablo watching the engine stats. at WOT I am only getting around 24 deg. Spark advance, with no knock retard, which seems a bit low?? Also the H02 sensors are reading in mV's which I have no clue how to decipher, but they read around 900 at WOT. I have not had a chance to get a fuel pressure guage yet, but will get one as soon as possible.
I think he meant off a full "tooth" on the cam gear. Meaning the notch on the cam gear would not line up exactly with the circle mark on the crank gear.Quote:

Relearn time is around 200 +/- miles depending how you drive.
Your stock mani's aren't helping by any means.
24* ...there only might be 2 degrees left on the table. These motors don't like much more than that. If you did a mail order tune, then he was being conservative so you don't end up needing a new motor.
SOTP meters are usually off (mine anyway), go to a track to test it out.
yea i think allen set mine at 24..my truck felt slower when i install my stall.. but i lost a second...
