I was wanting to know the angle of your engine swaps. My engine is angled down 5 degrees to the cross member. I would say most will be 0 - 5 degrees low. Let me know what you guys have.
Thanks

Anyone know what angle their engine is sitting at? You can lay a combination protractor on the front of the passenger side head to tell. The reason I'm asking is the headers I'm working on have been jig fit to a mock motor and the angle is going to be set at 5 degrees to keep them true to the frame. Just some info I wanted to pass on since I'm on the finishing steps.
If I had a protractor level I'd measure it for you. Don't forget to measure the angle of your driveway when you measure the engine angle and subtract that from it.
I got 5 degrees on the intake cover mines a stock 5.3 dont think its what your looking for but I cant get to the head and dont think you want stock angle but just in case.
Greg, I accounted for ground angle, thanks for the reminder though.
Riceeater, that's close but a machined surface is better. You might be closer to 0, you never know. If you look at the tranny is it angled down a hair from the frame?
what about compensation for chassis angle, if lowered, raised or whatever. Baseline the vehicle angle at the flat part of the chassis under the cab. Just for the guys helping you with your angle measurements via online.
Ill get under there in the morning and get it from there and repost but I did check the the pan and it was zero. My truck sits pretty but it was dark so I could be wrong.
Thanks guys! I just don't want to run into problems where swappers have left the tranny in it's original location and the engine sits 15 plus degrees out. If I know everyone keeps them within 5 degrees there shouldn't be problems with the new headers.

If you're using the original 88-2000 front clip that had the vortec 350 they will fit. From the cab back it doesn't matter because the headers will direct the exhaust pipe on top of the transmission crossmember on each side of the tranny. I will have a disclaimer with the headers that says what engine adapter thickness, engine angle, engine positioning to frame and everything to make sure the headers will fit your application so you don't waste your money on them.
