Lowering 03 Sierra
Thinking about lowering my Sierra later on down the road but I'm caught in the middle as to what I wanna do exactly. Part of me wants to lower it a lot like say a 3/4 drop which I think looks spectacular. However the other part of me likes being able to jump curbs when I need to and I also park on a hill which means I've gotta be able to drive over "rough" grade when necessary. So I'm thinking a 1/2 drop would be best but do you guys think it would be worth it appearance wise to lower it only that much? I mean I know I'd be able to tell it and it would definately make the HUGE wheel well gap in the back a tad more appealing but what would ya'll do? And what company makes the best lowering kit for the poor mans buck?
Thanks. Oh, and I just wanted to clarify the signature system on this site sucks terribly, LOL! Pain in the neck if I've ever seen one.

What are the specs on your truck? Different trucks respond differently to different setups but if you're really looking for a "dropped" look then 2" shackles will hardly make a difference, just make it a little more level. I'm not even sure how you would lower the front 1", different springs maybe? Again expense and hassle for not much improvement. As far as brand, I prefer Belltech but you'll get a million different suggestions. It's just a preference thing. If you get a quality 2/4 kit it will look great and ride decent.

By specs you mean 2003 GMC Sierra SLE, 2x4, regular cab, step side bed? Atleast I assume that's what your asking.
I don't want to totally level it either. I like a little bit of rake. Maybe a 2/2 or 2/3 then? As long as I have plenty of clearence between my front bumper and the ground I'm straight. And wrecken what a kit like this might run me? I've seen the individual components listed in Truckin Magazine but they are always drastically lower than what I here local truck guys tell me they spent on their kits. Don't know if that means the kits in the magazine are El Cheapo or what.

my suggestion would be belltech or mcgaughy drop w/ 2" front spindles.
i wouldn't go w/ springs but that is just me.

There is no cheap way in my opinion. Mine is 3/4 but I want to go lower... Buy some used stuff.

i have a 2/4 mcgaughy's(spindles, shackles, and hangers). it rides great but definitely cant jump curbs some stuff you have to sacrifice for good looks. you might want to shell out a little more coin for the better kit cause i heard the coils up front is a rough ride.

Hmm... well you guys got me wondering now. Maybe I'll leave the ride height for last.
