I'm lookin into porting and polishing my throttle body. What's the easiest way to do it? Is 1000 ok or finer? I want to go 80 all the way through.

1000 grit will work fine as a final grit. go with a dremmel tip for the removal of the material. Otherwise youll be there all day sanding.
thanks, would you happen to know what size the stocker is?
78mm is the size of the stock tbody. make sure not to remove material between the butterfly, and the outer edge. when the plate is closed, you should NOT be able to see arround the edges. In other words if you lay the throttle body on the table, and have it facing up like if it were still on the engine. Only remove material from the plate up. Dont spend too much time in one spot, It will cause waves, and/or damage to the aluminium.
:imwstupid: only port up to the tb blade, if you go all the way though your truck will idle too high or throw it in REDUCED ENGINE POWER.
Yeah, if you go all the way through, you will have to fabricate your own new butterfly valve because there will be too much clearance around it. If you have no experince in porting TBs, then I would have a professional do it...
I had no experience porting throttle bodies but, I did mine. It's easy, just time consuming.
True that!!! Why port your TB if your not going to get the most out of it; port it the max that you can and make a new butterfly. Anything else is just pointless. If it's 100mm on the outside and 90mm where the butterfly is, guess what you still have a 90mm TB. Have a professional do it.
I got another stocker from a buddy who bought a 80mm bbk so if i mess it up i'll be ok. I'm gonna try it tho. I appreciate the help fellas.
