Whats up guys.. Been Trollin around this site for a while getting my ducks in a row for a LS1 T56 swap into my 2000 RCSB V6 5 speed. And might I say this site has set me up with a load of info.

Right now I have a LS1 long block outa a 2000 Vette, and the wiring harness and computer out of a V8 truck. My main concern is the wiring, how hard will it be to graft the harnesses together? I was going to have Dynatech do the harness but looks like here latley they have been slipping, so fudge it I will do it myself. I have a the ECU pinout chart from the V8 truck. Does anyone have the pinout for the V6 trucks? I am mainly worried about the gauges working correctly. Has anyone here ever done this conversion.??
Also what about intake manifolds? I here the truck intake ahs more torque compared to the vette and f-body intake. And what about accessory routing, will any of the configurations work ( i.e. Vette acc, F-body acc, or Truck acc?) This will also come into play when I decide on an intake manifold. Any help you guys can throw my way is greatly appriciated.

I haven't heard of anyone doing the swap, so good luck and please keep us updated.
I don't think the front accessories will bolt up from the v6.

The wiring shoudn't be hard if you get the pin outs for the v6, check out all data online and get a subscription to your truck, then you'll have all the data you need.

Go to BakerElectronix.com to see the electronic accessories that Oscar used for his conversions at Dynatech. You can buy direct from them and their products seem to be good and their tech support is excellant in my opinion. Tell them you were told about Baker by LS1TRUCK.COM. We need a better site sponser here than Dynatech and Baker can fill the void.

Thanks for the link to alldata Allen. Just what I needed.

What intake manifold is eveyone using, truck or fbody? Wich one makes the best power for our trucks? This will be a major farctor when I go to purchase the accessory's and brakets.

I'm using the LS6 intake. I think most use and like the truck intake for trucks. There is alot of debate over which to use.

I think that is the route I will be going to, LS6 it is. I found a decent setup on gmpartsdirect.com

This is the Gen 3 fuel injection manifold used on 2001-04 RPO LS1 and LS6 Corvette/Camaro/Firebird engines. This kit includes the intake manifold, intake seal P/N 12560251, intake manifold gasket kit P/N 12533587, throttle body seal P/N 12552542, map sensor P/N 16212460, map sensor seal P/N 16194007.

All that for $361.74. Does this sound like a good price?

There is also a coolant tube (steam tube that bolts to the heads) that is different for the LS6 intake. Make sure you get that too. And the LS6 doesn't have a hole for the EGR fitting.

GMCwantsLS1, I have been searching around for the part number for the coolant tube. Would you happen to have this part number?

I am also keeping track of all the extra parts with part numbers that I have to pick up along the way so folks doing the V6 to LS1 swap will have a little bit of info to work with.

So far the major parts I am trying to come about are the starter from an LS1 style V8, oil pan from V8 truck ( I dont belive the V6 oil pan will work, somone correct me if I'm wrong). LS6 intake manifold, and map sensor. Corvette accessory brackets in order for the LS6 intake to fit properly. If I am not mistaken you must use the truck accessory brackets if you go with the Vortec style truck intake.

I will keep everyone updated on the progress.
