So ive been looking at a couple 6.0 engines and I know Id be better off with 03 and up but what I dont know is that does it have to come out of a 1500 series pickup or would a 2500hd, 3500 Van, engine work becuase most engines im finding are pick outs from 3500 series vans. If someone could clear this up for me.Thx Ben
I would think any 03 will work.
so if i bought one from an 03 3500hd it will work
another one i found had no oil pan do you know of any reason it would come with it?
3500 6.0 should work someone correct me if I am wrong. I would stay away from any motor that did not come with an oil pan. Make sure you get one from some worthy company like LKQ
Don't buy one without an oil pan from a salvage yard. It may have been sold seperately but I'd steer clear of it.
ok thx i found one from a 3500hd 23k miles and they want 1500.00 does that sound right?

eh, i bought a 6.0/80e combo back in november for $1200. sold the trans for $850 and the engine for $1500. shop around, there are deals;)
see if u can find me one like that in mrytle beach matt id be glad to come get it
i found that one in FL...i'll keep my eye out
