you are the man Quik.
im thinking about doing this just for a back up motor.
i was just trying to have a spare motor. and be cheap about it.
heck you want me to spend a bunch of money now.
lol
6.125 rods arent going to be cheap are they??
I have read where you take the 5.3 and just bore it 3mm to make 5.7L, so just buy a used 5.3L and bore it.
Read here in teh GEN III info to the right

really? 5.3 and just bore it huh. well i have a stock 5.3 as well. so i just might do that.
well thats not to bad.
i was hoping i could use a stock rod. lol
just want this as a cheap back up motor. lol
maybe i should just rebuild the 5.3 or the 4.8L back to stock.
nah that wont be no fun. lol
Yes, you can make a 5.3 a 5.7 just by boring it to 3.9. The stroke is the same in the 5.3,5.7,6.0; 3.62".
I have the Eagle rods cheaper than $450; $400 shipped.
yeah i guess i could do a stock rebuild. but i think ill go with your first suggestion.
found the rods for 385.00 at TRT
